KEEN Phoenix partners with Marriott International

 

Spirit to Serve Day!

Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center in Scottsdale

Join KEEN Phoenix  in celebrating our national partnership with Marriott International  on Wednesday, May 21, 2014.   We will be holding a Sports and Swim session for our athletes and athlete families to join Marriott volunteers for two hours of play and fun! 

Athletes- please RSVP before May 12th to Jo Ellen at info@keenphoenix.org and let us know you will be joining us!   KEEN will provide a kosher meal for all athletes that reserve their attendance on time!  We will play first and swim the second hour.

Plan to arrive by 3:45pm so we can complete the volunteer orientation (organizational history, information about disabilities, session schedule, and athlete assignments).  Everyone should plan to wear athletic shoes and comfortable play clothes to the JCC.  We will play sports and outdoor games for the first hour.  In addition, please bring your swimsuit, a towel and sunscreen for the second hour.  Most of our athletes will be swimming so please plan to swim if you can.  We are so excited to have our Marriott volunteers joining us!  Come Play With Us!

British Cyclist Christopher Day Completes Trans-USA Bicycle Ride to support KEEN Oxford.
On March 6th, Christopher Day, uncle of a 12 year old KEEN Oxford athlete, began an amazing trek across the USA. He arrived at JFK airport a few days earlier, and met KEEN New York's Executive Director, Maggie Harrison. He then departed for his launch city, San Diego, California, where he purchased the bicycle he named "Old Bessie," which would be his constant companion for the next 79 days and 3323.9 miles.
