David Spierer - President

Dr. Spierer has been involved in exercise physiology and academics for over 15 years. At the start of his career, Dr. Spierer worked as a clinician in a circulatory physiology laboratory and in sub-acute care settings taking care of patients with cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, and patients in need of a heart transplant. In 2008 Dr. Spierer became assistant professor at Long Island University Brooklyn, and in 2013 he was tenured as an associate professor and Director of Exercise Science. Dr. Spierer has taught courses and labs in fitness evaluation, exercise physiology, chronic  disease, clinical exercise physiology, and research methods. He has developed a variety of undergraduate and graduate clinical curriculum along with exercise science and fitness related affiliations. Dr. Spierer has presented and published his work in the areas of cardiovascular conditioning, athletic response time, activity trackers, Parkinson's disease, and swearing and exercise at national meetings and conferences. Dr. Spierer continues to teach online at Long Island University Brooklyn and at the University of Phoenix. Dr. Spierer now resides in Arizona.


Greg Murphy - Vice President
Greg Murphy has been in leadership roles with several major U.S. based retailers for the past 20 plus years, currently with United Pacific in Southern California. Previously Greg was with CarMax as a Regional Human Resources Director based in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to transitioning into Human Resources, Greg was a Regional Loss Prevention Director for CarMax. Greg is a Certified Forensic Interviewer, which he received from Wicklander-Zulawski.

Greg is also a Certified Personal Trainer, Group Personal Training Specialist, Youth Fitness Specialist, and Senior Fitness Specialist, receiving these certifications from the National Academy of Sports (NASM). Greg also possesses certifications in nutrition, sports nutrition and nutrient timing.

Greg has coached youth football and currently provides nutrition and fitness training for active mature adults. He also donates fitness and nutrition advice and training to current and former cancer patients, and several others that suffer from chronic diseases.

Greg serves on the Board of Directors of KEEN USA, Courage and a Cure (COURAGEANDACURE.ORG), and The YMCA.


Program Coordinator:

Alex is originally from Brazil, but grew up in New Jersey and France. She studied and played soccer in Brazil for 11 years.

For the past decade she has worked at the Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center in Scottsdale in different capacities, as the Sports Director and Camp Director. She also owned and operated a company called Itty Bitty Sports, which taught basic sports fundamentals for preschoolers throughout the Valley and City of Phoenix community centers.
